South Bend Foodies

WELCOME FOODIES!
LOCALS KNOW BEST so join the Local Foodie Revolution

South Bend Foodies believes that a vibrant, independent restaurant community makes South Bend and Michiana a better place to live. A vibrant local restaurant community increases a city’s culinary and cultural strength. Local restaurants ensure that this local flavor is introduced to visitors and those new to our community. Finding a local owned business to dine or drink in is no longer difficult!  Here and our social media areas you can find out about the many amazing locally owned businesses in our community.  We don't do any chains here just local independent businesses.  So pile your plate up on our website and remember to KEEP SOUTH BEND UNIQUE: eat drink local!!!

Got a tip on a restaurant that you want us to visit, send us an email.   Feel free to contact South Bend Foodies if you have questions!  southbendfoodies@gmail.com

Thank you and Chow!

The 11th Annual Ivy Tech Culinary Arts Dinner
This amazing dining experience, designed  and implemented from beginning to end by Ivy Tech students, funds scholarships that allow students to further their education through experiential learning. Although many Ivy Tech students are employed, several do not earn a living wage, so there is a continuing and critical need for assistance for those who cannot afford college or external learning opportunities. Support of this event helps to bridge this gap and create opportunity.

Upon graduation, Ivy Tech Hospitality Administrationstudents are prepared for an extraordinary future in the hospitality industry and ready to contribute to our region's economic growth. Your support can truly help us change lives and make Indiana great.

South Bend Foodies is proud to partner with Corvilla - Homes with a Heart for the calendar fundraiser "Michiana Chefs Best Kept Secrets 2013"

Presenting Michiana Chef's Best Kept Secrets Calendars!

Meet Michiana's very own home grown culinary stars while you support Corvilla. Michiana Chef's Best Kept Secrets features chef's from some of Michiana's most well known dining establishments. Each month features a new chef, complete with a short bio, recipe and their favorite cooking tips! If that's not enough, the restaurants have also provided money savings coupons!

This calendar will showcase area chefs   and restaurants in a way that hasn’t been done before and will become a useful tool for area foodies plus it will help raise money for Corvilla to provide care and homes for people with developmental disabilities.

Corvilla, is a local non-profit organization that has been providing homes and care for people with developmental disabilities in the community for over 50 years.  Although Corvilla receives the bulk of its operations funding from Medicaid, it doesn’t come close to covering all the needs of caring for our residents.

Over the past few years, chefs have gone from anonymous cooks to spatula-wielding rock stars with lucrative TV shows, best-selling cookbooks, cookware and plenty of fans.  Well, we have our own home grown culinary stars right here in Michiana and we hope that you will enjoy meeting them in this calendar.

These local “stars” are every bit as talented as their TV counterparts and they truly “Have a Heart” for Corvilla by taking part in this project.  This calendar will spotlight area independent restaurants and chefs and let them share a favorite recipe, culinary tips along with photo.

The sale of this calendar will raise funds for Corvilla, but it will also provide the recipient with a unique, quality product and an incentive to visit each of the participating restaurants during 2013.   Each calendar will contain coupons that will allow you to enjoy and sample the talents of these chefs all year long while supporting local eateries.  You will “get to know” who is in the kitchen and appreciate the fact that we have some very talented people in our community.
